    Field Positions

    Brick/Stone Mason (Union)

    Timely and accurate placement of masonry objects, setting of large pieces of stone, granite or marble, operation of masonry saw, including kneeling, bending, turning, climbing, carrying and lifting of weights from two to 100 pounds each.

    Carpenter (Union)

    Timely and accurate measurement, cutting, placement and securing of wood or metal formwork materials, scaffold, doors, hardware, trim, cabinetry, acoustical ceiling partitions, handrails, barricades, walkways, ladders and platforms.

    Cement Mason (Union)

    Timely and accurate mixing and application of special coatings, finishing of concrete surfaces through the use of heavy machines and hand tools while in a bending position.

    Construction Worker (Non-Union, Iowa only)

    Measures, cuts, places, secures and adjusts concrete formwork, scaffolding, masonry, stone, structural and architectural pre-cast concrete, structural and miscellaneous steel, light gauge metal framing members, fencing, dimension lumber, sheet goods, millwork, casework, insulation, waterproofing, metal and composite panels, roofing, sheet metal, caulking, doors, frames, hardware, windows, lath, gypsum products, plaster, fireproofing, finishes of all types, specialties, equipment, furnishings, and a variety of pre-engineered building products.

    Laborer (Union)

    Soil digging, pouring, placing and screeding of concrete, dismantling and stripping of heaving formwork, patching and jackhammering of concrete, sweeping, janitorial duties and transportation of materials by hand, wheelbarrow or buggy on elevated and suspended scaffolding, ladders and multi-level structures.

    Operating Engineer (Union)

    Operation of mobile crane, tower crane, hoist, backhoe, front-end loader, bobcat, lull and/or forklift. Assembles and dismantles crane booms, masts, jacking equipment and handles heavy rigging by hand and with power equipment.

    Superintendent (Non-union & Union)

    Establish, coordinate and maintain all on-site construction project functions, extensive interface with owners, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, company operations, safety, quality, human resources and administration.

    Trade Superintendent (Union)

    Establish, coordinate and maintain all hiring of union construction personnel, extensive interface with union representatives, community based organizations, superintendents, and human resources. Must have a complete understanding of construction techniques, company policies, union policies, and a general knowledge of appropriate personnel policies.

    Office Positions

    Administrative Assistant

    Using IBM-based software, produce correspondence, generate reports, organize, create and file required construction documents, answer telephones, and generally assist the construction team as required.

    Director of First Impressions

    Develop and maintain friendly, personal relations with all clients and all levels of construction personnel through tactful, helpful, cooperative and persuasive communications.

    Estimator

    Timely and accurate completion of hard bid and/or conceptual construction cost estimates, using precise estimating techniques and broad construction knowledge.

    Field Engineer

    From the construction site, assist project manager and superintendent with all necessary construction administration. Learn appropriate construction processes to establish and maintain control of project from pre-planning through construction phase and assist with closeout.

    Project Engineer

    Assist project manager and superintendent with administration. Learn appropriate construction processes to establish and maintain control of one or more projects from pre-planning phase through construction phase and assist with closeout.

    Project Manager

    Responsible for establishing and controlling all project administration, collaboration with construction team members, continual development of construction knowledge and compliance with established construction standards.

    Sr. Project Manager

    Responsible for establishing and controlling all construction project administration; friendly, expert collaboration with all members of the construction team; subordinate mentoring; protection of Knutson from risk through continued development of expert construction knowledge and compliance with established construction standards.
