Minneapolis, MN., February 10, 2004 — Knutson Construction will partner with Park Nicollet Health Services, RJM Construction, and Ellerbe Becket on the construction of the new heart and vascular center at Methodist Hospital (MH). The $32.6 million project includes a 6-story building and 488-car parking structure. Knutson was selected as the general contractor for the project and will begin construction this week. Completion of the center is targeted for August 2005.
The new 206,800 sq. ft. heart and vascular center will be located on the south side of Methodist Hospital and will replace the Tourtellotte Building, which was recently demolished. The new facility will be the home of MH’s cardiovascular services and include exam rooms, diagnostic facilities, an exercise area, and short stay patient rooms. The first floor will have waiting areas blended with retail services. Methodist Hospital will receive a new front entrance that will be shared between the heart and vascular center and the rest of the hospital, as well as a separate exit for discharged patients.
