MINNEAPOLIS, MN., May 3, 2006 — The City of Anoka and Knutson Construction Services  proudly announce that the groundbreaking ceremony for the North Central Business District (NCBD) parking structure was held April 24, 2006.

Knutson Construction is the general contractor for the $5.5 million project, a 268-stall, three-level parking structure.  The public parking structure will replace several existing surface lots and provide safe and convenient access to Anoka’s historic downtown.  The parking ramp has been designed to fit in with the architectural style of historic downtown Anoka and will also lay the foundation upon which the entire North Central Business District redevelopment project will be built.  The project is targeted for completion in December 2006.  “Together with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. (structural engineer); Miller Dunwiddie Architecture; and Cain Ouse Associates, Inc. (mechanical and electrical consultant), the project is sure to bring an invigorating inception to the North Central Business District,” said Randy LaFaive, Knutson’s Project Manager.
