06/29/2007 - Knutson Begins Construction on $6.9 Million Kirkwood Project
IOWA CITY, IOWA. June 29, 2007, - Knutson Construction Services Midwest announced today that site excavation is underway and actual construction will soon follow on the new, $6.9 million Kirkwood Horticulture Building. The approximate 40,000 square foot facility will be located on the south campus, west of Washington Hall; it will include classrooms, lab facilities, offices, and a 9,000 square foot state-of-the-art greenhouse. The Horticulture Building is scheduled for completion Mid-Summer of 2008.
“The new Horticulture Building will be a great asset to our campus and will provide an outstanding learning environment for our students,” says Tom Kaldenberg, Executive Director of Facilities. Kaldenberg also said, “Knutson has done previous work on our campus and they will do a nice job with the Horticulture Building.”
