MINNEAPOLIS, MN, July 21, 2010 - The Minnesota Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (MNSHARP) honored Knutson Construction Services with an award recognizing their efforts to develop and implement an exemplary safety program at the Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota - Minneapolis campus. Department of Labor and Industry Commissioner Steve Swiggum presented the Knutson team with a formal award at a ceremony on July 16, 2010, making it the 11th project recognized since the Program launched in 2007.

The MNSHARP Construction Worksite Program recognizes companies for developing safety and health programs that go beyond basic compliance with applicable OSHA standards. Knutson’s focus on safety resulted in 805 days without a lost-time accident and zero incidences involving the public, hospital staff, and most importantly, the children being treated. “There is no silver bullet or magical formula that leads us to this certification. It was achieved by a commitment to safety throughout the project team, meticulous planning, engagement of all employees, training, and day-to-day management of work activities,” stated Mike Nielsen, Safety Director at Knutson Construction Services.
