Knutson Awarded the University of Iowa
West Campus Transportation Center
IOWA CITY, IOWA, October 17, 2011 – Knutson Construction is proud to have been awarded the $13.8 million West Campus Transportation Center by the University of Iowa. The facility is a 2-story transportation hub, which will provide a pedestrian link via skywalks to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The center will also include the relocated office space for the Parking and Transportation department.
Excavation has already begun on-site, on the North side of Kinnick Stadium. The center will allow both city and campus buses to drop their passengers off in a facility sheltered from inclement weather, and allow safer and easier passage for pedestrian traffic with 2 skywalk connections to the hospitals and clinics.
