On a sweltering July day in Benson Minnesota, Knutson scheduled a critical 1:00 a.m. conrete pour for the first large-scale poultry litter power plant in the country. No small evening outing, this required 3,500 cubic yards of concrete on a single pour, with four pump trucks putting out 500 yards per hour. With zero tolerance for movement, and the need for absolute precision, the nighttime project prevented high concrete temperatures and ensured the integrity of the structure.
