Working from only a floor plan and drawings of similar facilities, Knutson went to work to demonstrate outside-the-box construction solutions to build the 20,000 sq. ft. Council Bluffs, Iowa location of Camping World. Our ideas—and our highly competitive cost projection—won the construction contract from national developer Oppidan Investment Company. Despite working through extremely difficult weather (14 inches of rain in 13 days on a low, flat site with minimal drainage), we completed the job on time and on budget, which the owner greatly appreciated. “We need to place great faith in budget numbers for preparation of tenant agreements and project budgets,” explained Randy Rauwerdink, project manager for Oppidan. “Knutson was able to secure final construction numbers very consistent with, if not better than, their preliminary budget estimates.”

Oppidan Investment has since asked Knutson to be involved in retail projects in California and Missouri.
