Ames Water Treatment Plant
The Ames Water Treatment Plant, completed in August 2017, includes a new lime-softening water treatment plant with a finished water capacity of 15 million-gallons-per-day, including a building to house water treatment processes, operations, administrative support, and maintenance areas; a softening residuals handling building, and modification of existing lime sludge ponds. Process facilities include cascade aerators, solids contact clarifiers, granular-media filters, chemical storage and handling, backwash recovery basin, a finished water clearwell and high-service pumping. The project also includes electrical, instrumentation, and control Systems, supporting mechanical systems, and sitework.
