In July 2020, Knutson was asked by a client to renovate the former Albert Lea Elks building, which had been sitting dormant for over 10 years. As an iconic and historic figure within the social landscape of Albert Lea, the Elks lodge was the center of the town for weddings and events for over 60 years. The client, Albert Lea Law purchased the building with the intention of renovating the building into their law office while maintaining some of the historic exterior architecture. Knutson immediately began to work with the designers and the city to expedite the interior demolition process, as the law firm wanted to be in the building prior to Thanksgiving.

The project consisted of a complete gut and fit-up of existing ballroom and convention space. It also features new space that consists of reception areas, offices, workrooms, break room, offices and a workout area.
