Harriet Bishop Elementary School is the 4th and final school built as part of the 2019 Bond Referendum with an overall project cost of $32 million dollars. Harriet Bishop school serves approximately 750 students in grade K-5.

The project consisted of the demolition and removal of an existing single-story Elementary School and the construction of a new 100,135 GSF Elementary School, doubling the square footage of the previous building. The new school sits right behind where the initial building was first constructed in 1959 in Northwest Rochester.

The project started in June of 2021 and finished in August of 2022, allowing time for teachers and administration to move in and get settled before the students first day on September 6th, 2022.
The new site offers improved communication systems in every hallway and classroom, a commercial kitchen, multiple playground areas outside of the building and a brand-new mini roundabout placed on the south entrance to the school bus lot which will help create a more efficient transportation structure while the school and surrounding neighborhood grows.
