The Children’s Hospital Parking Ramp was part of the hospital’s overall expansion and renovation project. The 778-car parking ramp is connected to the main hospital by a 100 linear ft. skyway and underground tunnel. The parking ramp consists of six levels with a total of 260,000 sq. ft.

Through hard work and dedication, Knutson was able to open the ramp one month early so employees could use it before the five-story adjoining medical office building was complete. The parking needs for the employees were a major cost concern of Children’s. By opening the lot for employees a month early, they were able to save all the money they were spending on buses and off-site parking.

Knutson received the 2009 Building Excellence Award in recognition of the use of concrete in a commercial building for this project.
