Kinnick Stadium South End Zone

How do you renovate a highly visible Iowa landmark? University of Iowa officials turned to Knutson Construction to rebuild the south end of its football stadium on a very tight timetable, a project that several other contractors declined to bid.

Knutson gained access to Kinnick Stadium just two weeks after the Wisconsin football game in 2004. Our organization brought in expertise from all three Knutson offices to plan for an aggressive schedule: form, pour and strip over 2,700 cubic yards of concrete wall during the three coldest months of the year. Our team stepped up, showing Hawkeye fans the amount of work that can be accomplished with proper planning and execution, no matter what weather conditions are present. The Kinnick Stadium renovation was completed well in advance of the first kickoff of the 2005 football season.
