Sandra J. Schulze American Cancer Society Hope Lodge Expansion

The American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge, a facility that provides lodging to adult cancer patients and their caregivers at Mayo Clinic, often had a waiting list for their 29 guest rooms. They called on Knutson to expand the Hope Lodge to 61 rooms. But we provided more than construction — we were able to help the owner stretch funds by engaging subcontractors and suppliers to make their own contributions to this important Rochester nonprofit.

“Knutson came in as a partner, helping to leverage their existing relationships to bring the overall cost down,” explained property manager Howard Heino of the American Cancer Society. “They believed in the project and saved us significant dollars on the project. I have never heard of any other firm doing that. They are very, very effective at building relationships.”
