Knutson’s preconstruction team began meeting the owners and plant manager of TBEI in June, 2020 to begin identifying the client’s goals and facility final use of the purposed building. As part of the Design Build Process, our preconstruction team working in collaboration with the architect, prepared four individual estimates at each different design iteration. Once the final design was established we established the GMP. Prior to construction we identified the possible long lead items to begin securing them to meet the seven month construction schedule.

This project consisted of a 26,000 SF Pre-Engineering Building with a connecting link to an existing building to be used for final truck body assembly. The 32’ high building includes 18 Truck Bays with 16’ garage doors, three overhead cranes with a 25’ pick height, wash bay, office area, lockers and break room.
