Marketing Communications Coordinator

The Marketing Communications Coordinator will work in partnership with the marketing team in creating, delivering, editing, and optimizing our internal and external communications. We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative individual to join our team. In this role, you’ll be intimately involved with our PR and communications efforts and get a unique opportunity to have hands-on involvement across the spectrum of AEC content marketing and brand communication.

We’re a fast-paced and results-oriented marketing team, so we’re looking for someone who can jump right in, think on their feet, and not be afraid to ask questions. The ideal Marketing Communications Coordinator will be the right balance of creative and analytical – working with our marketing team and PR consultant to curate PR / media plans and campaigns, assist with social media strategy, and update our intranet, website, and blog. The ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work is critical in this role.

The ideal candidate should be a self-disciplined, conscientious person with demonstrated ability and expertise in communications, copywriting, and media relations.

The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work in partnership with the marketing lead on drafting and editing communications targeted to Knutson Construction employees, including articles, emails, executive communications, videos, presentations, speeches, blog posts, event-related communications, social media posts, intranet content, etc.
    • Working in close partnership with Marketing Coordinator(s) on creating graphics to coincide with messaging
  • Manage industry award nomination submissions; including but not limited to, ENR, Rising Young Professionals, Top Projects, and other industry awards
  • Monitor feedback, in partnership with our PR consultant, on published content and identify opportunities to improve communications based on research and data
  • Content management and copywriting for the employee newsletter, including conducting interviews, article curation, and proofing
  • Support innovations and enhancements to internal and external employee communications, programs, and platforms
    • Bolster Knutson’s online presence through regularly scheduled and strategic blog posts, external video assets, and new outreach programs (Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
  • Assist Marketing Coordinators as needed with the proposal / interview process

 Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing / communications or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in:
    • Communications, marketing, public relations, employee engagement, or business management
    • Presenting to groups and teams
    • Content creation across multiple channels
  • Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint/Word/Excel/Sharepoint/Teams) experience
  • Operate with discipline and urgency; manage multiple projects
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with proven track record of executing campaigns and tactics
  • Excellent project management skills including development of strategic initiatives, active management, and execution

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing content tailored to specific audiences and channels within the AEC (architecture, engineering, construction) industry a plus
  • Preferred experience with WordPress and CMiC
  • Experience in building and executing initiatives within the AEC industry
  • Knowledge and / or use of Associated Press Stylebook
  • Video and digital communications experience
  • Ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity
  • A strong working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
