MEP Manager

As the MEP Manager, you bring technical experience with a drive to lead project teams through all MEP activities. You are a detail-oriented, team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks and the day-to-day execution of a specific project.

The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  •  Actively manages MEP scope including developing a project plan, securing resources, and keeping the project on track for on-time delivery.
  • Develop MEP subcontractor Request for Proposals and estimate presentations as needed
  • Review MEP estimates and bids from subcontractors.
  • Provide value engineering, system analysis and maintenance studies on MEP systems
  • Complete constructability reviews and recommendations
  • Conducts building performance evaluations and audits, including commissioning, re-commissioning, retro-commissioning, and test & balance activities.
  • Develop MEP Scopes of Work templates (Commissioning Plans, Start-Up Check Lists, Progress Reports)
  • Performs construction inspections to ensure MEP installations conform to project documents.
  • Provide management of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, conveying systems, building controls, life safety, and low voltage
  • Track costs relative to change orders, RFIs and budget tracking
  • Maintain positive relationships with MEP equipment and technology vendors, subcontractors, and engineers of record.
  • Support VDC department to solve 3D model coordination elements as it relates to MEP
  • Attend prospective client and client meetings as necessary in the pursuit of new work

Other Specific Requirements Include:

  • Certification in Energy standards (B3 or LEED) strongly preferred
  • Possess a working knowledge of electrical systems
  • Experience in the planning and construction of commercial construction.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), schedule, cost, safety, and quality
  • Ability to organize and lead department initiatives, standards, and staffing
  • Solid leadership, management, and supervisory skills
  • Working knowledge of MEP CAD and 3D visualization software (Navisworks, Revit)
  • Attend conferences, seminars and workshops to maintain licensure for MEP continuing education
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Licensed Professional Engineer is preferred

 Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of commercial mechanical / electrical construction or design experience
