John C. Curry steps into role of President at Knutson Construction

Minneapolis, MN – 10/05/21

Knutson Construction is pleased to announce John C. Curry as President. John is the third-generation owner and Curry family member to lead the company. He succeeds James Benning, who recently left to pursue a new opportunity.

“On behalf of Knutson Construction, we are grateful to James for his leadership these past two and half years during a time of great change,” said John. “I’m excited to lead the company that has been part of my family and that I’ve been able to grow and develop within, and I look forward to continuing to focus on our strategic plan and leading Team Blue.”

John spent time working as a laborer for Knutson during summers in college under some long-time employees who are still part of Team Blue. “I quickly saw the work ethic and the pride that our employees took in the work they do every day.”

John is no stranger to hard work and had a successful career as a hockey goalie–locally at Breck School, in college at Boston University and professionally for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Minnesota Wild Organizations.

John formally joined Knutson in 2015 and developed the role of customer experience, focusing on fulfilling the customer journey through The Knutson Experience. This included conducting experience feedback meetings with customers, leading initiatives to improve customer satisfaction, and measuring our performance in delivering an exceptional experience for owners, design partners, and trade partners.

As an owner, John has been intimately involved in the creation of the advisory board and current leadership structure.  He has served Knutson’s leadership team and been instrumental in developing the company’s strategic plan.
