Knutson Construction Announces Two Promotions To New Roles

Knutson Construction recently promoted two team members who are long-time members of their Minneapolis operations team to new positions in the company.
Katie Montag, Promoted to Vice President of Technology & Innovation.
Katie Montag, AIA, has been promoted to vice president of technology & innovation. In this new role, she will lead and deploy the advancement of technology throughout the construction process. Katie joined Knutson in 2017 as BIM manager. She holds a B.S. in Environmental Design and a Master of Architecture from North Dakota State University. She was instrumental in starting the women’s employee resource group (ERG) at Knutson and is passionate about advocating for women in the AEC industry.
Jens Fredrickson, Promoted to Director of Operations.
Jens joined Knutson in 2012 as a project engineer and has held roles of increasing responsibility in a variety of sectors and project types, including Metro Transit Bus Garage, Park Nicollet, Burnsville Campus, and various projects at Minneapolis St Paul International Airport Terminal One. Jens Frederickson has been promoted to Minneapolis director of operations at Knutson Construction. Jens’ experience spans a variety of sectors and project types. In this new role, Jens will provide operational leadership across several departments, drive process improvement initiatives, and build lasting relationships with clients and industry partners. Jens holds a BS in Civil Engineering from U of M and volunteers for Hearts and Hammers, ACE Mentoring and Roseville Youth Hockey board.
