Knutson’s Diversity Director Named Advocate of the Year

Minneapolis, MN – 12/12/2016

Last month, the National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) held their annual awards event, “Celebrating Touchdowns and a Renewed Vision” at US Bank Stadium. The event, which hosted approximately 300 guests, was held to celebrate minority-owned small businesses and the individuals and companies who support minority business development and growth.

In attendance was Knutson Construction’s diversity director, Ramona Wilson, a board member and passionate champion for the NAMC. Ramona was presented with the “Advocate of the Year” award for her unrelenting commitment to helping the NAMC members secure projects within the construction industry.

Several Knutson Construction employees, including general manager, Lance Hornaday, were also in attendance at the event. Knutson was presented with the “Affiliate of the Year for Profit” award for its dedication to hiring minority businesses on projects and for the Knutson Alliance Program (KAP) which helps mentor small, minority-owned businesses.

“We are extremely proud of the work that Ramona does within the community and are thrilled to have her as a valuable asset on Team Blue,” stated Lance Hornaday, general manager of Knutson Construction. “Ramona’s commitment and dedication to the NAMC members is a testament not only to her personal ethics, but to the ethics that Knutson values as well. The KAP is an important part of Knutson Construction and we feel very honored to be recognized for our efforts with this program and for our dedication to hiring minority businesses on our projects.”
