Virtual Design + Construction (VDC) leverages technology to collaborate with all project stakeholders during master planning, preconstruction, estimating and construction. Knutson’s VDC Department specializes in creating 3D Building Information Models (BIM) for project teams to be more efficient, reduce risk and mitigate issues in advance of construction start. Combining these three-dimensional resources ensures all stakeholders are well-informed, can visualize the project, and have the right technology available to make effective and efficient decisions. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) also known as drones is a reality capture method of documenting projects. Aerial photography combined with Li-DAR technology allows drones to quickly document vegetation, elevation changes, thermal imaging, and high-resolution imagery in lieu of more expensive survey methods. Meet our drone team below!
