Gateway Revitalization Era

From 1961 to 1975, the company had exclusive rights to a 16-block section of Minneapolis near Washington and Hennepin Avenues. Projects built during this Gateway Revitalization era included the Northwestern National Life Insurance building, Minneapolis Public Library, Federal Reserve Bank Building, the old Sheraton-Ritz Hotel, IBM buildings and the Northern States Power Company building, among others.

In 1966, Standard Construction Company changed its name to Knutson Construction.
