Ramona Wilson Named 2023 Women in Business Honoree

Minneapolis, MN – 04/06/23

Knutson Construction’s Diversity Director, Ramona Wilson, has been named a 2023 Women in Business award honoree by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. This award honors business and community leaders based on their outstanding professional achievements, leadership qualities, and positive contributions to the Twin Cities area.

“I’m so humbled and honored to receive this recognition,” said Wilson.

Wilson has been working to effectively change the landscape of construction at Knutson and beyond since she first joined the team in 2013. In her role, she has carefully designed the Knutson Alliance Program (KAP), a formal supplier diversity program that mentors minority- and women-led small businesses, as well as an internal diversity workforce group that works department-wide to identify and breakdown construction’s unique challenges and barriers. Her work has significantly improved Knutson’s diversity workforce and spend with diverse suppliers as well as helped build and maintain a culture that wholly supports diversity, establishing KCS as a trailblazer in DE&I initiatives.

Wilson’s work impacts those well beyond the construction space, as well. She is extremely involved and dedicated to improving her community, having served on multiple organizational boards, and participating in numerous local councils and industry panels throughout the span of her entire professional career.

Wilson’s unrelenting commitment to building up diverse communities as well as continuing to use her platform to engage and educate others on diverse and impactful relationship building was also a reason she was recognized as one of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s Top 200 Black Leaders You Should Know in February 2023.

All 2023 Women in Business honorees will be featured in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s May 19 Women in Business special publication as well as celebrated during an awards event and expo that same day.
