Vince Ellison Joins Knutson Construction as Vice President / General Manager for Iowa

Knutson Construction announces Vince Ellison as the new vice president and general manager in the Iowa market. Ellison will support and oversee all aspects of Knutson operations from pre-construction through substantial completion of all projects within Iowa.
Ellison comes from BerganKDV, where he served as the market leader and COO for Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. Previously, Ellison served as vice president of human resources at Marsh & McLennan Companies.
Born and raised in Iowa, Ellison holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in industrial relations both from Iowa State. He earned an MBA from the University of Iowa.
“I believe building a strong business begins with growing its people,” says Ellison.
Ellison is active in the local community, serving as a board member on the executive committee for the Iowa City Area Business Partnership. He is also a board member of the Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre and was named Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Man of the Year in 2014.

Bastyr has been with Knutson for 40 years and has worked in each of Knutson’s key markets.
Among many significant projects in Iowa, Knutson is currently working on Cedar Rapids / Marion Area YMCA, Hazel Point Intermediate School in Marion and Boyson Road Senior Housing in Cedar Rapids. Recently completed projects include University of Iowa Psychological and Brain Sciences Building and University of Iowa Healthcare Central Sterilization Services Facility both in Iowa City. Knutson is also known for significant projects over the years including the Cedar Rapids 5 Seasons Center and the University of Iowa Carver-Hawkeye Arena Renovation & Addition and original construction.
